ABOUT ANN PACKER
Ann Packer is the critically acclaimed author of two collections of short fiction, Swim Back to Me and Mendocino and Other Stories, and two nationally bestselling novels, Songs Without Words and The Dive from Clausen’s Pier, which received the Kate Chopin Literary Award. She lives in San Carlos, California.

ABOUT SUE MILLER
Sue Miller is writer who has written a number of best-selling novels. Her two novels have been made into feature films, and her book While I Was Gone was an Oprah's Book Club pick in 2000. Miller is now a professor at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she teaches creative writing classes.
